I am a leisure eBay seller. I have only a %26quot;Personal%26quot; PayPal free account. I don%26#039;t want to upgrade my PayPal account. Problem is, when buyers pay me with a credit card or debit card, PayPal assesses me a fee. Therefore, I would like to PREVENT customers from paying me with credit card or debit card.
I like accepting only PayPal payment methods which are FREE for me. These include payments funded by %26quot;PayPal Balance%26quot;, %26quot;PayPal Instant Transfer%26quot; or %26quot;PayPal eCheck%26quot;.
How do I avoid people buying from me with credit cards and debit cards? Thanks!

Besides stating in your listings that you will not accept credit cards, and unticking the credit card payment option when selling the item, there is not a lot you can do.
Buyers can still pay through their own paypal account, but then that could be credit card funded itself, leaving you exposed to chargebacks.
Paypal will hold any CC payments for you until you upgrade your account to a fee-sucking premier or business account, unless you decide to cancel the payment and contact the buyer to pay by another means.
It is far from helpful, but whilst Paypal earn vast fortunes from credit card transactions, they are not likely to enable sellers to place any restrictions on their use.

You shouldn%26#039;t be saying you have a paypal account. State clearly in your auctions that you do not accept credit or debit cards. And state exactly what kind of payments you will accept.
