Can my wages be garnished by Visa or other credit cards that I am not paying? I am in debt $100k, fr

I make $50k a year now, and I incurred $50k in student loan debt along with another $50k in credit cards... I stopped paying my cards about 19 months ago, collection agencies call my mother, grandparents, and work.. Never my cell phone though, that is my only phone. I am wondering if I am risking having my wages garnished? I work for local government, I heard that Federal employees are less likely to have wages garnished , due to red-tape and admistrative expenses. Would this hold true for a County employee? I am not sure what method would be the best for me to clear up my debt. I want to buy a house before I am 30, I am currently 25. Any suggestions are welcomed, thanks!

Can my wages be garnished by Visa or other credit cards that I am not paying? I am in debt $100k, from colleg

Pay your debt - You got your education and it wasn%26#039;t the loan companies %26amp; credit cards responsibility to put you through college. It wasn%26#039;t a scholarship - it was LOANS. Now that you got your education you are making good money. Pay that debt off. it will take you years to do so - but do it. Be a person of good character.

Pay off as much of the credit card balances as you can and focus on the college loans as well. You will do it. I am serious in saying it will take you probably over 10 years to do so - but you CAN do it.

Negotiate with them on an amount you can realistically pay each month. DON%26#039;T go out and furnish your home and start living %26quot;high on the hog%26quot; just because you are out of college making some money now. You are an adult and should act like one. Pay the debt - it%26#039;s yours - and it%26#039;s only right.

If you want to buy a house, you can%26#039;t have bad credit. Each of the cards you did not pay are reporting you as R9 (charged off to a collection agancy) more than likely. A lender wants to see a good credit history. Keep that in mind. So start answering the phone, making payments and also start paying on the student loans that will never go away (read the law on that one). If the credit companies get a judgement on you, that will stay on your credit report for ten years, more if they renew the judgement. Just because you work somewhere that you are safe from wage garnishments does not make you untouchable. Assets can be seized...like a bank account. A county employee wages can be garnished I think only govt and Indian jobs, like for a reservation. A heads up on the student lonas. A loan for 8 thousand dollars can end up being a judgement for 23 thousand with interest, attorney fees adn all that. The loan was not a gift.

It is hard to pay off student loans when you begin at a salary you can barely live on, however they are not going ot go away, no one is going to forgive them unless you are considered totally unable to work, like had both your arms cut off and have one bad leg, blind in both eyes. You may need to get a night job....take care and good luck. You can get through it.

I am a collection attorney in California. A creditor cannot garnish your wages without first suing you and obtaining a judgment. Once they obtain a judgment, the wage garnishment procedure is not that difficult to initiate and your status as a County employee won%26#039;t help you.

You have quite a bit of debt and you won%26#039;t be able to purchase a home without better credit and/or a substantial downpayment. You might consider bankruptcy to get rid of the credit card debt and making payment arrangements for the student loan debt.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under

Have you ever stand in a long line up at the cash register only to see some idiots in front of you insisting on using their debit and credit cards on small things under $10 or $5 like a pack of gum or a bottle of water. Each person doing this probably takes another 3-5 mins to the line up. I can understand if you are buying big ticket items but to use cards to buy a pack of gum, come on! There should be an express check out line for those paying cash, afterall the merchants make an additional 4-5% because they don%26#039;t pay commission to the credit card companies.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I get paid to keep the customer happy and if it means taking a whole 30 seconds longer for them to use a credit/debit card than so be it.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Yeah it sucks, but hey it%26#039;s happened to me before too.

Sometimes we aren%26#039;t all perfect, and we have no cash on us, so we have to use debit.

Contrary to what you, those people aren%26#039;t arrogant jerks, they just don%26#039;t have the cash on them so they have to use debit.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I find it annoying that some places require me to use cash, and then hand me big piles of near worthless metal I%26#039;m supposed to haul around with me everywhere.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Not annoying at all. I do it all the time and get those credit card miles. Because I do that, I take some very sweet vacations several times a year all over the world!

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

No way.

I never carry cash anymore, so I purchase everything with my debit card.

3-5 minutes for each person??!!

That is outwageous.

It should take no more than 30 seconds more than paying with cash, unless the places you are complaining about still have those ancient things that are used to make carbon copies of each card.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

No I don%26#039;t find it annoying, only people in a rush do. I try not to carry a lot of cash on me because well I rather get robbed and have them take my debit card to where I can just cancel the account then to have cash on me to where they get away with it and I lose it all. Some people rather just carry cards, that way its easy to track what you take out of the account. Maybe you need to loosen up your schedule if you are in a rush and go to the store at a different time?

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I never use cash. I ALWAYS use my card, even for a 25 cent piece of candy. The stores that don%26#039;t make money on those transactions do fine in everything else they sell. Their owners tend to be doing very well financially. I%26#039;m not too worried about it. If everyone used check cards, there wouldn%26#039;t be a need for money, loose change, PENNIES (which I detest), and cashiers that can count. Life would be better.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

It is up to the merchant to put in an express lane. The consomer is well in his rights to use these methods of payments

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

nope i dont find it annoying.. sometimes some of us dont have cash on us.. and the fact that we do have credit/debit cards makes it convenient.. they do have places where they have checkouts that are cash only... maybe u should shop there and you%26#039;ll be a happier shopper..

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I don`t understand either. No matter what the price of a purchase your account will still be debited a service charge. Keep some cash on you all the time for things like this, it`s cheaper and faster.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

It can be a little annoying if you%26#039;re in a hurry. But this is why credit card companies are coming up with ways to allow you to just swipe your card and go if your purchase is under $25.00. It hasn%26#039;t happened yet, but it is in the works.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

yes, but what I find WORSE is when they write a check for

the small items.

That even takes longer.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Lots of people don%26#039;t carry much cash, and typically ATM transactions take around 20-30 seconds, not 3-5 minutes.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Actually in my opinion it is quicker most of the time. Cashiers nowadays have a hard time counting money and with a debit card or credit card they don%26#039;t need to do that.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

If we really, really try we can always find something wrong with somebody.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

It does not annoy me but amaze me. A lot of supermarkets have express check out lines for cash only and also for self check out too.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I agree, That sucks. What is even worst is paying with a CHECK. I had people in front me paying a 4/5 buck purchase with a personal check. Now that takes 10 minuts to process....sic...sic...sic

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I use my debit/credit card for just about everything. Especially now since my bank started a new program that gives me 5% interest on my checking account if I use my debit card 15 times a month as a credit card. I pay no additional fees for using it. Sounds like a win-win situation for me.

Also if the stores you frequent take 3-5 minutes per person for debit/credit cards to be processed than you should think about switching to a different store. The stores I use mine at do not take that long at all.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

If it%26#039;s taking a long time for people to pay with their cards - whatever type - it%26#039;s not their fault; it%26#039;s the vendor%26#039;s fault. If you pay attention, you%26#039;ll note that there are places where you swipe your debit card, punch in your PIN, and the reciept pops out right away. That%26#039;s because they have a decent network connection and credit service. Other places, you%26#039;ll swipe your card, and *actually hear the modem dialing up*.

In fact, it%26#039;s faster when I pay for my coke and donut at the local convenience store with my debit card than when the guy in front of me pays for his with a $20 bill and then spends five minutes putting the change in one pocket and the bills in his money clip.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Actually, I used to be a cashier, and it takes about the same amount of time, unless something is wrong with the debit/credit card machine (which is rare, but it does happen).

Loads of people don%26#039;t carry cash on them anymore. I don%26#039;t blame them. I must be one of the very very few that still don%26#039;t have a debit or credit card.

If you are in that much of a rush, you should have given yourself more time. Why do people become annoyed standing in line? It%26#039;s something in life we all deal with, and making huffing and puffing noises, as well as muttering under your breath distracts the cashier, and irritates other people for no good reason.

What;s more irritating, so to speak, to me, is when I was a cashier and people brought their WIC items to the express line. Now THAT takes time. But, you just deal with it. There are more important things in life to worry about that an extra 3 minutes of your time.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Not really because not everyone has cash on them and if not near your atm with your bank, you get CHARGED$1=$2 JUST TO GET MONEY, PLUS SOMETIMES THE MIN. IS $20.00

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I very seldom have cash on me anymore. I don%26#039;t see where it takes an extra 3 to 5 minutes, it takes maybe a few seconds. I have never paid a fee for using my debit card. What annoys me is people who are paying by check and don%26#039;t have anything prepared or paying by cash and can%26#039;t find their money or left it in the car.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I dont carry ANY cash just my credit card. I%26#039;ve charged it for as low as 50 cents. forget the $5..............some people think I%26#039;m nuts, but it%26#039;s better than getting mugged for cash and my credit card isnt signed in the back so they always ask for ID.

I just love it. I dont know what I would do without it. Especially for all those 99 cent purchases at taco bell :)

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

I%26#039;m sorry I would have to agree with the majority...I NEVER carry cash and if I do...its very little. As a person who has had their purse stolen before...as a policy, I just do not carry cash...when someone steals your stuff, you can%26#039;t get that cash back...its gone...but if they spend on your credit or debit card, you can get that back in FULL...so I would rather err on the side of caution then end up with all my money stolen. And it really doesn%26#039;t take that much longer...what about all those people paying with stuff in change that spend half an hour at the register counting out pennies, dimes and nickels...if they just had their card, they wouldn%26#039;t have to carry around the entire contents of their childhood piggy bank intheir pocket...it can really go either way if you take the time to think about. and implus...money is full of germs and BACTERIA...no thanks!

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

On the contrary..

I never carry cash at all.. I never %26#039;lose%26#039; a twenty or am quick changed by a slick cashier.. everything I spend using my debit/credit is tracked.. I have a record of virtually every penny I spend..

And as a quick service restauranteer, I prefer credit cards and debit cards because it%26#039;s actually faster than cash and that elderly person who spends time digging thru their purse for exact change.. THAT drives me nuts.. Yes, I do pay commission, but I more than make up for it in the ability to push customers thru my restaurant faster.. since we have used credit cards for our business.. we average, during a peak lunch, getting about 10 to 15 more customers thru each hour.. and customer counts are up more than 15% over five years ago.. I make more money, can pay more wages, and hire one or two more employees, and part of that is the speeding up process credit and debit cards allow..

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Here in the UK most supermarkets have check outs for 10 items or less, and some have a cash only checkout...been caught out with those before now as the sign is usually way above my head and I never think to look up there....

I always pay with a credit card because the housekeeping money is put into my savings account at the start of the month. The credit card bill is settled in full a day or two after the statement arrives. That way I am not charged any interest on useage of the card, but I am earning interest on the money being kept in my savings account....make your cards work for you not the banks..

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Idiot here! Went to the gym the other day with a friend as a guest, and they had some BS $2 charge that annoyed my friend, so instead of whipping out a couple of washingtons, he gave the guy a credit card. This totally annoyed the merchant! He actually asked if we had cash instead, which we did, and told him that we had cash, but were using the card. When asked why my friend just said %26quot;welcome to the 20th (sarcastic) century%26quot;.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

not really. i only use debit. i find when i have cash in my wallet, i spend it faster. you should complain to the stores you shop at because they should have express lines. it takes the same time for the cashier to count out change as swiping the card and entering a 4 digit pin number.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Get real some of these yuppies use them to purchase gum....

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

Sometime carrying only debit and credit cards for safety reason may not be so safe after all. I read in the newspaper in Mexico, muggers are taking revenge on people who carry no cash by forcing them to eat dog sh*t. In China, mugger stabs their victim when they don%26#039;t get cash. The bills there are mostly in red, so the saying goes %26quot;muggers are determine to see red... one way or another. So I always carry some bills around in case. Better to lose your case then get some psycho criminal angry. You never know what they may do.

Do you find it annoying that some people insist on using credit and debit cards to pay things under $5?

no because some peepz have a hard time keeping cash. i think check writers r the worst. i agree with the cash line.

What happens if you really can't pay your credit cards off anymore?

It%26#039;s a vicious cycle.. you have a LOT of debt and the more debt you have, the more and more it becomes because of interest rates, the increasing monthly payments, etc. What happens if you literally made a mistake (didn%26#039;t purchase any frivolous things or go on vacations, buy cars, etc.) and you just can%26#039;t pay anymore? You lose your house too, in a short sale or foreclosure because, again, you just made mistake after mistake and buried yourself deeper and deeper. What happens to you? Your business (self employed) also suffered for a long time, and you%26#039;re still not back on your feet. Can people really give you a hard time for just plain bad luck/judgement? The stuff on the cards is literally like.. groceries, sometimes rent, mechanic, insurance, other credit card bills, utitiles, etc.. It%26#039;s just added up over the years. Oh ya, and at least 10k spent on renovations, as well as at least 10k in loans (to a relative that never paid almost any of it back)..

What happens if you really can%26#039;t pay your credit cards off anymore?

Credit card companies do not care what you spent the money on they just want it back.

If you do not pay several bad things will happen.

First your accounts will go to collections and they will hound you day and night.

If you do not pay, they can take you to court and get a judgment, at that point they can attach bank accounts, garnish wages (if your State allows it) and file liens on any property you may own like cars, boats, land and homes.

All of this activity will show on your credit report for 7-years making it very hard to get any other type of loans without massive down payments, paying huge fees and State maximum interest rates.

I would suggest that you contact Consumer Credit Counseling Service at 1-800-388-2227 they are the largest and oldest non profit credit counseling service in the Country, I used them several years ago and was debt free in 36-months.

What happens if you really can%26#039;t pay your credit cards off anymore?

yup, most credit card users will have that to say!

Well, if you really cant pay off your credit card bills anymore, you should promptly contact your credit officers and write in with a proposal of how much you can afford to pay every month. When that happens, the Bank would probably freeze your spending limit and all you have to do is just pay off the monthly sum that uve proposed and been accepted by the bank.

One of my collegue just did that %26amp; she%26#039;s a happy women now!

What happens if you really can%26#039;t pay your credit cards off anymore?

Credit card companies are not compassionate, they want their payment on time and that%26#039;s it. You are responsible for your actions and nobody else, so better get a second job and try to make as much payments as possible if you don%26#039;t want to lose everything. And why did you make renovations when you didn%26#039;t have the money? The worst case will be to go bankrupt but nobody really wants that, so stop renovating.

What happens if you really can%26#039;t pay your credit cards off anymore?

They come after you forever.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now

do I close my other cards accounts or do I leave them open in case of emergencies?

(Also, just found out that one of my cards that I paid off just gave me a positive bump in credit. A REALLY BIG BUMP. What should I do?)

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

I say DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT close them. It will only hurt your score. Just try to not go crazy with the other cards and continue to use the one for emergencies or whatever you need. Congratulations on getting out of debt, I am currently where you were right now. Wishing I did things differently. Everyday I%26#039;m praying for my breakthrough. Overall, just continue to use the one and leave the others. The only other thing is that if you have a card with no activity for too long, sometimes they will cancel you. So every now and then charge something small and pay the entire balance with the invoice comes.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

closing your accounts will not help your credit. leave them open, but stash them away, or cut them up.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

you need to close the other ones u are goin to be in debt if you keep them open

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

dont close any of them, keep em open and use only in extreme emergencies. this will help your credit the most.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Actually, having less credit available can be harmful to your credit report, so if you can trust yourself NOT to run them up again, leave 1 or 2 open. (You can even cut them up %26amp; not close them.)

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Leave them open but dont use them....one of the measure of your credit is actually howmuch you have available compared to how much you are using.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Leave them open and rarely use them

The reason is this, on your credit, capacity is king. Meaning that it will show all these LOW balances on your credit, and that is good.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

***Well of course they gave you a big bump because they want you to start charging again. You should cancel all the cards before you%26#039;re in debt again. You%26#039;ll only be tempted to use them if you leave them open.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

ya do not listen to that guy that said if u keep them open you will be in debt. i have heard to not close them because it will show against your credit score. so just keep them open and not use them. of you can have one card for bills and the other for gas. or something like that

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Do not close your unused credit cards, closing them will actually damage your credit rating. Just cut them up so you don%26#039;t use them. Paying off your credit cards will give you a bump in your credit score-that%26#039;s great. The best thing you can do now for your credit is to not get into trouble again. Figure out a budget, and try to stick to it, be sure to include a savings plan!

Congratulations.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Realistically the question would be do you need so many credit cards, or do you wish to be free of the bondage of credit cards. If you think a high credit score is the thing in Life, keep them and continue to worship at the altar of the FICO Score. I you truly want to be free in life, and be free of debt. Chop them up, close them out, and pay cash.

As for emergencies...a good cash emergency fund works wonders. $1000 to start with, then when you are debt free, go for 3-6 months of expences as your emergency fund

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

I would keep just 1-2 cards, and close the rest. If a card has an annual fee, and you%26#039;re not using it, why keep it? Ideally, you only keep the card(s) with no annual fee, a low interest rate, and a high credit limit.

Don%26#039;t feel that you have to be loyal to the one that gave your credit rating a bump. It%26#039;s more likely that it occurred because you paid off several of them at once, rather than just this one card. It just happened about the time that you paid this one off. The credit card companies are there to make money off of you. They don%26#039;t have you as a customer because they like you, or want you to get a promotion, or because they like your chocolate chip cookies. You%26#039;re just a source of income to them. You don%26#039;t need to feel any loyalty towards them.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Spend the eight dollars to your FICO score. Ask yourself are planning to buy a car or refi a house or get a new house. If the answer is no to all the above just leave another credit card open. 730 or above is a good FICO score.

Received a windfall of cash and paid off all extra credit cards and am working with only 1 card. Now. . .?

Leave them open. they will help increase your credit score. A good credit score will help you get better interest rates when you need a loan. Don%26#039;t go running up the debt again or that big bump will go back down in a hurry.

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

I cannot find one reason people use credit cards instead of just paying cash. It appears to me that it is just playing with snakes, and even incentive cards have high interest rates and outrageous fees.

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

It%26#039;s called convenience. You don%26#039;t have to carry cash, and you can charge all month long and write one big check at the end of the month. Not everybody carries a balance, so the incentive cards are simply free money and discounts.

I put everything on my Discover card, and pay it off each month. I%26#039;ve never paid a penny for the card or for intrest on the card, and every year, I get a check back from them for about $500. So, yep, I%26#039;m going to continue to use my credit card. I can shop online through Discovercard.com and receive another 5-10% off of my purchase (and still use online codes that I%26#039;ve found elsewhere). And, if I choose to get my cashback bonus in the form of a gift card, then I can double that $500 to $1000. Not bad for the convenience of carrying their card around.

You need a credit card to establish a credit records so that you can get bank loans/mortgages in the future.

You need a credit card to rent a car.

You need a credit card to order items online (and if you don%26#039;t receive it and the company says they sent it and too bad for you, then you call the credit card company and they do a chargeback to the vendor unless the vendor can PROVE that you received it - not just that they shipped it).

Besides, with a credit card, I don%26#039;t have to go inside the gas station to pay before I pump gas and have to stand behind all of those people buying lottery tickets.

Need more reasons?

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

If you ever need to obtain a large capital purchase...ie: a house or car or boat... you must have established credit in order to pervent a 30 year savings plan for cash. Credit cards assist all of us in establishing that credit and associated history. A must have for anyone these days. (unfortunatley)

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

Credit cards are a great way to buy things that you can%26#039;t afford. For example, if the engine blows in your car, and you don%26#039;t have two thousand dollars cash, but you really need a ride, charge it. When it comes to making frivolous purchases, credit cards are a definite no-no. But in emergency situations, they can be a life saver.

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

Some people are able to live and never use a credit card at all. Some people find that cards do have benefits.

1. Building credit rating. This is more important to some than others. However, credit card usage over a few years without any problems is very helpful to the credit score. That can affect more than just getting more credit. Some jobs do credit checks nowdays and most apartments do as well.

2. Ease of use. There is no having to go to the bank and pick up cash. For some people, that is a big reason. Of course, that is also how to run into credit problems. Some people who can%26#039;t handle the responsibility of using credit cards are better off using cash.

3. Emergencies. Imagine getting a blowout while travelling and not having any cash on you. Some tow truck places do not even accept cash. They feel it is a liability because that would mean that drivers could now be carrying cash and the crooks would target that. ATMs are not always easy to find and some you just don%26#039;t want to do business with.

4. Theft protection. If your wallet is stolen and it is full of cash then you have lost all of that cash. There is no way to replace it. However, if your wallet is stolen and you had credit cards and you report it then those cards are cancelled and you only have to pay up to $50 of the transactions that were done before you reported it. Now, it is possible that you not realize it for days and they run up a pretty good tab on you but still there is at least some theft protection.

5. Some places will require a credit card in order for you to do business. Many hotels require a credit card. I am not sure if any car rental places accept cash or check. I kind of doubt it. You may not ever go to a hotel or rent a car but there are millions of other people who do. They will need credit cards.

6. Card advantages. Some cards come with really nice perks. Airline miles, cash back programs, savings programs, gift programs, charity donation programs. Many people like to take advantage of these. There are even some banks that give these advantages on debit cards.

7. Accountability. Each month (or every day if you go online and do it) you get a statement of how much you spent and where you spent it at. That is very helpful for some people in working their budgets. To do that with cash requires you to keep receipts. A kind of clumsy easy to mess up technique. Some people are better at the receipt thing than others. Some need a statement that shows every cent that was spent.

Cash is good to have but more and more places are wanting you to pay with either credit or debit. Checks are starting to go out the door. Many places do not accept them. Of those that do, many are just scanning the check and getting the funds electronically (basically making a check a paper debit card.) I heard that Wal-Mart will scan the check and hand it back to you. People need to rely on plastic somewhat today and that will increase more in years to come.

One note about myself. I do not use credit cards and I do not have any credit card debt. However, I do recognize that I have a better control on my budget right now that most people have on theirs. Some people need to have credit cards for some or all of the reasons above. I do not suggest relying on credit cards to make purchases you could not otherwise afford. That is how problems start.

By the way, what is wrong with playing with snakes? I grew up in the country and playing with snakes was a popular pastime for a growing boy.

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

I totally agree with you. I have never had a credit card, do not need a credit card nor do I plan to even get a credit card.

It seems a lot of people use it like FREE money. And then when bill collectors start calling, hmmm, they can%26#039;t pay for anything they have.

You don%26#039;t NEED a credit card to obtain a line of credit for large purchases such as a house or car.

I have both of those with out ever applying or using credit cards.

Can anyone make an argument for the use of credit cards?

There is no good reason except immediate need gratification.

The ATM visa or mastercard has the same protections as a credit card. Anything you can do with a credit card you can do with your debit card so you can rent a hotel, or whatever and not carry a wad of cash.

If you pay cash you don%26#039;t care about a credit score. A credit score just means you have debt.

If you have no credit card bills you probably have money in savings for emergencies.

All those perks credit cards give are better for them than you. Visa has one know where if you buy 7 meals from burger king you get a free meal. Big deal.

You can get a manually underwritten mortgage without a credit score.

If you buy with cash then you probably have a budget so you know exactly where your money is going.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

is there a limitation on defaulted credit cards

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

The usual minimum time for a past due or a charge off to remain on your credit report is 7 years. However, it is calculated from the last activity on the account. Activity means moved into collections, any payments made. Be very careful. Banks will sell bad debt to debt collectors and the new collector will pursue you to no end. They will also try to get you to make a payment, which then resets your last activity to that date and the delinquency begins anew for another 7 years. Also debt collectors will try to open a %26quot;new account%26quot; which then they say they have the right to pursue for 7 years. They are very tricky. Make sure you keep records and can prove it was the same original debt, and they will have to remove it. Check out the FCRA (fair credit reporting act) at http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/031224fcr...

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

I think it%26#039;s 7 years.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

10 years

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

7 yrs but beware many sell them off to credit reporting agencies and re-report it as a %26quot;new%26quot; collections account

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

Statutes of limitation on such debt vary from state to state.

Bear in mind that an expired SOL does NOT wipe out any debt. It merely precludes obtaining a judgment against you for said debt. The debt remains due and payable, and a collection agency can come after you to pay for a very long time.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

I%26#039;m pretty sure it%26#039;s 10 years. It used to be 7, but they increased it.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

It depends on your state...here is a link to a website that give you the information:

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/...

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

When a statute of limitation expires, it does not mean that the debt goes away, it only means you can use it as a defense to stop collectors from collecting thru the court system. Collectors can still

try to collect thru other methods.

In other words, they can continue to try to collect forever.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

4 YEARS IN CALIFORNIA, BUT IT DEPENDS ON WHAT STATE YOU LIVE IN.

What is the statue of limitation on defaulted credit cards?

It depends on the state and a variety of other issues (such as the last time they tried to contact you). Check-out this site...

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

I have three credit cards and was thinking of just keeping 2.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

Get rid of them!

If you go to obtain credit for whatever reason, the creditor is going to consider the amount of your credit limit as risk.

For instance, you have 3 credit cards with a limit of $1000 each. A creditor will add the $3000 to the potential risk you could incur if you decide to go %26amp; max out your cards.

Not to mention the interest rates!

So, call each cc company, ask them to lower your interest rate. Then keep the 2 that give you the lowest rate, I would personally only keep one, but this is your decision.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

sounds like agood idea to me :)

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

Hang on to the one you%26#039;ve had for the longest, since it keeps a longer history open for you. But it is good to cancel some if you have a large amount of credit available to you.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

Not really. Having accounts that you have paid off shows that you are a good credit risk

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

cancel them! you user them one time you may just use them and get you balances back.....

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

you could cancel a credit card after you pay off the balance. if you keep the card it will show as open credit and could count against you when applying for credit. if you do cancel the card be sure that it states on your credit report that you closed the account and not the credit card company.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

It%26#039;s probably a good idea to cancel it. Just don%26#039;t go getting another card, because that kind of yo-yo activity won%26#039;t look all that great on a credit report. But it%26#039;s not a good idea to show that you have tons of available credit, because you might be a credit risk for the future.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

*WARNING* DO NOT LISTEN TO ALL OF THE ABOVE!

You do not want to close all your accounts after you pay them off. A major factor of your credit score is how much available revolving limit you have. For example if you have 10,000 in cc%26#039;s you have just paid off %26amp; it went from being 0% avilable credit to 100% avialable this will Greatly Improve your score. If you close them all you you will be right back to 0% avilable %26amp; you get no reward for paying them off. If you have to many close all but 4 of them.

Is it a good idea to cancel my credit cards after I clear their balances? Or will it hurt my score?

I have had several people tell me I am out of my mind not to have credit cards. If I want something I pay cash for it and know that it is mine. Or I save my money until I have enough to pay cash for it, then I purchase the product. I figure why should I buy something I don%26#039;t need and pay someone I don%26#039;t know for something that will cost in the long run more because of interest rates. I figure I am way ahead because, at the end of the month when my pension comes in I pay rent, living expenses and what ever is left over is mine. I have no bills, or phone calls, or threatening letter of disconnection notices. What is left is MINE. So from my point of view a credit card belongs to the devil and let him keep them, why would you want to make him rich with your hard earned money. You worked for it why give it away?

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

With my business, customers have reocurring bills quarterly. I want to let them know that they can now pay with credit card, or give us their credit card number to keep on file. What is the best way to let 700 existing customers know that we are now capable of taking credit cards.

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

How are they notified that they have a new bill? Whichever way younotify them, slip in a little note that let%26#039;s them know that you now accept credit cards. Develop a form they can complete and return along with their payment if they wish to switch to credit card.

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

if you have a database or a way of filtering out the 700+ customers just put a note on the next bill.

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

It is probably best to send them all a letter. You could also create a form that they can fill out with their credit card information and return it to you. The best way is to create the letter and form and provide them with an addressed return envelope (but it isn%26#039;t necessary to provide the envelope).

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

SEND 700 LETTERS AND /OR EMAILS, SIMPLE NOTE, TO MAKE YOUR ASSOCIATION WITH US EASIER WE NOW ACCEPT VISA, AMEX OR WHATEVER!

GOD BLESS

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

Print up flyers and stick %26#039;em in the bill or just mail %26#039;em out and write it off as a buisness expence. :)

How do I let an existing customer base know that I am know accepting credit cards?

Any of my creditors would include a note in my next bill. Most would redesign the payment coupon with the bill to include a space to write the credit card # for payment.

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

I am deep in debt because of bad choices I made in life, a divorce and being unable to work for several months because of a medical condition. I recently graduated and I am looking for a fulltime job. (Once I get a job, I do not believe I will earn enough to ever pay off my bills. I%26#039;m paying 32% interest on some of my credit cards.) In the meantime I cannot afford to pay the minimum balance on my credit cards. Should I go bankrupt or should I cash in all of my retirement accounts to pay off these bills? Thank you for your input.

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

NO!! You will get penalized about 40% for taking out the money.

You may not be bankrupt- Read: The Total Money Makeover for tips on how to deal with debt. You may need to sell everything (car, home, toys, etc) but you may not be bankrupt.

If you are paying alimony or child support it may be worth the money to file a motion to modify your order.

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

No

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

Depends on your motive. If it is simply to not have credit card bills the answer is no. If you would use the money saved to save then you might think about it. Do the math. How much interest are you earning? How much are you paying? Most people who do what you are considering end up in the same situation again except with less retirement and the same if not more credit card bills.

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

Check into Consumer credit counseling. Me %26amp; my husband just set this up. It helps you pay off your debt quicker %26amp; with less out of pocket for you. They work with your credit card companies %26amp; come up with a plan for you. THey usually will reduce your interest rate (if yours is now 32% they may get it reduced to 10%). Taking money out of your retirement fund should be the last thing you do! Bankrpuptcy has helped alot of people. But, I think you should try to check out some sort of credit counseling. Go to the yahoo search engine %26amp; input %26#039;consumer credit counseling services%26#039;, it will most likely bring up some in your area. Good luck, being in debt is the worst thing. Especially after the problems you have alraedy had to deal with. I wish you the best

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

The bankruptcy could impact your job search adversely. Call your creditors and tell them you have no choice but to file bankruptcy. They will be very eager to talk. Tell them you need your interest reduced to 10%, and the balance cut in 1/2. Be polite, but very firm

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

No, not if you can avoid it. You will be penalized and pay a lot in taxes. I would only use this option as a last resort - see if you can draw a loan against your retirement plans and pay off the high interest credit cards.

Should I cash in my retirement accounts to pay off my credit cards?

NEVER!

Avoid this at all cost1

What is your opinion? U.S. Banks offering credit cards to illegal immigrants.?

I saw on the evening news that Bank of America and Citi Bank are offeing high % rate credit cards to illegal immigrants and that there has been a movement (backlash) against these companies by some groups stating they oppose this practice for they see it as encouraging bad behavior and encouraging immigrants to come here illegally and that the banks are giving them rights they don%26#039;t deserve? What is your opinion?

If the bank loans Jose a thousand dollars on a credit card, regardless of interest and Jose skips out and can%26#039;t be found who pays? The bank isn%26#039;t going to take a loss, they are going to increase rates in other places or reduce what they pay on money invested in the bank to compensate for their loses.

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

How does it make you feel, when they come into this country illegally, do not pay taxes, do not learn the language and get special treatment when there are citizens in this country that have work hard, but still can not afford to pay all of their bills and get penalized by not being able to get loans, credit cards and mortgages?

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

I think we need to cut off all benefits other than emergency health care that make it %26#039;comfortable%26#039; to live here when people are here illegally.

Banks can do what they want with their money, but to the extent Bank of America uses investor/account funds to offer their programs to illegals, they are risking account holder money on investments with quite possibly fake ID, which would sure seem to me likely to have a greater default rate than normal credit cards, etc.

In any event, it seems like a risky investment to me, and is also contrary to my policy convictions, so I will be moving my accounts out of that bank.

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

Don%26#039;t complain if an illegal buys a house and gets deported to his country, it only make your country richer. OH and the US government doesn%26#039;t give a **** about us poor folks, just so you know.

wow! some of us down there are pretty darn closed minded, maybe some of ya%26#039;ll should go do your home work on illegals.

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

If the are illegal they should not get any benefits that come with being in this country. First of all they need to learn to speak English before they do any of the other things. They do not deserve any special treatment for breaking the law.

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

what concerns me about this is who%26#039;s going to pay the loans off if and when they get caught nd deported?

Do you feel it is wrong to give credit cards, mortgages, and other loans to illegal aliens?

Of course it%26#039;s wrong! Since they are illegal, they can%26#039;t legally work in this country, therefore they have no legal income to pay back the loans! IF they pay it back, it would be from illegal money, either from working illegally or from illegal activity such as drug trafficking or dealing in stolen goods.

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

If I have 10 cards all with the same interest rate, one with a 10,000 dollar limit and the other 9 with 1,000 dollar limits and they are all maxed out is there one way to pay these off thats better than others with respect to credit score?

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

If you have 10 credit cards and they are all maxed out, you%26#039;ll always struggle to have a good credit score.

Missed payments

Total debt levels (maxed out is bad)

Lots of outstanding creditors (you have 10. that;s bad)

Keep your highest card, unless you know you will max it out again. You need to be honest with the fact you have a spending problem.

Pay all your minimums and a little more to the ones with the highest interest rates first. As soon as it%26#039;s paid off, close that account.

You%26#039;d be hardpressed to give a good reason to have more than two credit cards. Pay off 8 of them and cancel them.

Normally I%26#039;d suggest a zero percent interest to pay it off and pay less interest, but you have far too many accounts to make this feasible.

Cut all the cards up. Seriously.

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

I don%26#039;t know for certain, but I would try paying a little more than the minimum on the largest one and 8 of the 9 others. That ninth one, pay as much as you can on to get it paid off and then close the account. Continue doing so with each of the smaller ones until they are all paid off and then dedicate the money you were paying on the 10 to the one you have left.

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

I have heard the following plan used by many...

take one and send extra money to it and pay it off...

then take all that money that was going to the first one you just paid off and use THAT PLUS the money you have been sending to a second card and send all that to the second card.

THen keep repeating that till you reach card #10 and by then you will be sending MAJOR chunks of cash into the card and should be able to get it all paid off very shortly.

hope that helps- but if there are some with higher interest rates....go after the higher interest rate cards first.

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

There sure is I can show you a way to get them paid off within a installment loan before 5 years and not make any payments for this first 4 years. If you are interested email me at creditsurgeon@gmail.com

Whats the best way to pay down you credit cards to Increase your score?

This is not what you want to hear but in looking at your other questions, and you stating that you have basically 10 cards %26quot;maxed%26quot; out. I would say the last thing you need to worry about is your credit score right now. As the only reason you would need a good score is to get more credit. In your case you need to get your current credit under control. Once you have them paid off it won%26#039;t really matter how you got them paid off as your score will be about the same.

One major factor is your credit utilization. That is your TOTAL credit used over your TOTAL credit avaiable. That means it adds up ALL of your credit limits and ALL your credit used. Since you said you are maxed out you are near 100%. Ideally you need to be under 30% for the better scores. There is a sub-calculation for credit utilization on each card but in your case any offset of getting the 9 paid off would be erased by still having the high limit one all maxed out.

I would just concentrate on paying the minimum on 9 of the cards. For the 10th card pay as much as you can until it is paid off. Once it is paid off do the same with the next card. Eventually you will have them all paid off.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

Should I pay off my credit cards with the money I have at my equity line, in order to avoid high interest rates from my credit cards?

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

no no and no, if something happens like an illness, job loss, etc. how in the world will u make the monthly mortgage payments, if u stop paying on the credit cards, what can they do, worse case scenario is get a judgement and ruin ur credit, but they cant take the house. stop making mortgage payments and i guarantee in 90 days the bank will be knocking on the door. this is what has created the problem we face today, so many folks rolled credit cards, car payments etc. into the equity of the home, it is not a wise move and i have seen thousands of these situations. then ur world goes bam and then what do u do. MY ADVICE IS DONT DO IT%26gt;if you have any savings use that to pay down the credit cards, be sure to leave a 60-90 day cushion though, can u borrow on ur 401k or ira to pay down the cards, and then pay urself back, i am sure you have seen the transfer credit balances with 0% interest rates for a period of time, play the game and move the balances and pay off what u can, then when its time move it again, anyone with smarts and good credit is doing that its like free money. gl to you but no matter what PROTECT YOUR HOME

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

NO NO NO The credit cards may be at a higher rate, but they are %26#039;unsecured%26#039;. Move that debt to your equity line, now it becomes %26#039;secure%26#039; and if you can%26#039;t pay, they can force you to sell your house to pay it off. DO NOT DO IT- seems unlikely to happen, but is possible, not worth the risk.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

No, you should pay them off - period. Don%26#039;t move them around to save $40 or $50 over the next year. Get serious and pay them off.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

yes yes yes. Pay off the high interest cards. Plus the equity line on your house is tax deductible... You credit ards are not.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

I would be inclined to say no for the reasons listed above.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

I would pay them off, it may be risky, but you can get serious and pay them off.

I have a home equity line with 7.5% interest. I have some credit cards that has higher rate....?

No. Do not pay CC%26#039;s with a home equity line. If you default on the CC payments..your house it at risk.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calli

A few of my husband%26#039;s creditors call probably 15 times per day. Sometimes I%26#039;ll talk to them, they get nasty when I explain the situation and still keep calling and calling and calling. Isn%26#039;t that considered harassment? He%26#039;s got 3-4 that do this, so yes, my phone rings off the hook from 8:00 am -9:00 pm. Is there anything I can do short of giving them all of our money and not paying our house payment so I can get these darn credit cards to leave us in peace for a day????!!!!!

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

You have a right to tell the creditors to not contact you by phone anymore only by mail. If they continue they can get sued. Then send them letters asking if they can reduce the interest rate. A lot of companies will do that but don%26#039;t get discouraged if some don%26#039;t. Go to creditinfocenter.com they have great advice. I used a lot of thier ideas and it helped me so much to get back on track and work on my credit score. Good luck...

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Do you have caller ID? If so, don閳ユ獩 answer the phone unless you recognize the caller. Turn off your ringer. If you have an answering machine/voicemail screen your calls.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

If you%26#039;re getting those calls, the accounts have already been sold to collection agencies.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

try and make the minimum payment

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

My mom is a single mother, and she gets behind a lot since we struggle. To make things lighter on her and to make her laugh, every time they call, either my mom has died, there calling a Chinese restaurant, they have woken up a bitchy old lady, a Chinese lady named Ms Swan answers, or Borat answers the phone.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

You can add your telephone number to the national do not call list and that may help a bit. You can also register a complaint via the online web form at the below link !

Good Luck !

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Until you make payments, they will keep bugging you.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Caller ID can help to an extent but a lot of those calls come from private numbers so you don%26#039;t really know who is calling. (i.e. anyone with an unlisted number - friends?) Unfortunately, the creditors can call you as often as they want until you either set up a payment plan, make their minimum payment or pay them off. Once you do, I would start canceling the credit cards.

The %26quot;Do Not Call%26quot; national registry only applies to those trying to sell you something and not to creditors.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Best thing to do is to stop being your husband%26#039;s shield and have him talk to them to deal with HIS debt. That%26#039;s what they want and they%26#039;ll likely discuss some sort of payment arrangements and not ask for the full amount due. Just discussing arrangements with them helps. 15 times per day is certainly grounds for a harassment complaint. Just keep records of the calls coz the creditors certainly won%26#039;t. I wouldnt%26#039; put up with that.

But just for a little revenge and to annoy the callers, ask them to hold and just leave them on hold for a while, come back and say it%26#039;ll just be another minute and repeat, do this until he gives up. Chances are, he has other calls to make and goals to meet and keeping him/her on the line as long as possible without actually getting anything done prevents him from getting his job done. Not saying avoid responsibility and accountability, but calling 15 tiimes a day everyday isn%26#039;t ethical business practices regardless of who owes what.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

It%26#039;s not THEIR fault you were so immature that YOU abused YOUR credit when YOU spent TOO MUCH....

You have 2 choices... move to the middle of a desert somewhere or pay what you owe.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

I know money is tight but is there anyway you can go to radio shack and get a tape recorder that hooks up to your phone. When they call...

Azzholes: Is so and so home

You: this call is being recorded. Who is this (they say who they are) Please do not make futher contact with us via phone and I am requesting that futher contact from your company to us by made by mail. THEN hang up!

****

If they continue to call you now you have proof that they are harrassing you! SUE THEM use the money you win to pay them off

UPDATE*****************

Please do not let the comments of the poster above upset you!

She does not know you or your husband from a can of paint.

Debt in america is a way of life. Everyone owes everyone something (mortgages, car notes etc). Losing a job can be hard for your husband. I am glad he as a wife like you that is in for the long haul. The last thing that he needs is to have to deal with them at a time where he is feeling pretty bad. Tell him to hang in there and things will get better.

Best wishes.

And remember your debt does not define you or him.

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Even if you pay a small amount towards your debt every couple of weeks, that will go a long ways towards showing that you are serious about fulfilling your obligation. Good luck...

My husband and I got behind on some credit cards and plan on paying them soon, problem w/ them calling...?

Hi. Sorry to hear about ure husbands.. Everything is going to work out if you keep ure heads up. U say you have 3-4 credit cards after ure husband lost his job its going to be hard to juggle of diffferent payments. This is probably the best move you can make at this time. Get a debt consolidation loan and payoff all ure credit cards and make it all one monthly payment at a lower rate. With that isnt not as confusing and you save thousands in interest payments. Those credits will start to jack their rates and ones it gets to 20% and up its going to be hard to get out. SO look for a consolidation loan or personal loan. VIP Credit one of my website sponsor off Guaranteed Loans. Maybe look into it. Its going to be alot cheaper to go that way. Good luck i hope everythign works out for you.

Does anyone know whether Las Vegas Casinos take Credit cards so you can buy poker chips in order to sit down..

I%26#039;m pretty sure you have to go to the ATM

Does anyone know whether Las Vegas Casinos take Credit cards so you can buy poker chips in order to sit down..

yes, you need a pin number to get cash using a credit card at any casino. otherwise, you can go to the cashier cage and ask for an advance on your card. they will need your ID and it%26#039;s a hefty service charge.

you can also set a line of credit with the casino before you go. of course you%26#039;ll have to give up your SS# and go through a credit check..,

good luck.

Does anyone know whether Las Vegas Casinos take Credit cards so you can buy poker chips in order to sit down..

go to the cash cage and yes they do use credit cards..

Does anyone know whether Las Vegas Casinos take Credit cards so you can buy poker chips in order to sit down..

At my casino in MI, you gotta pay a 3% surcharge and you have to use the human teller.

Does anyone know whether Las Vegas Casinos take Credit cards so you can buy poker chips in order to sit down..

You can buy chips or coins at the casino cage with your ATM or credit card.. (with proper ID)

Some casinos allow you to get cash advancements right on the tables.. (Ballys, Hilton, MGM...ect) but, not all of them do..

To play poker in any casino.. All you do is go into the poker room and sign up if there is a waiting list.. Once you do that.. You can either buy, chips on the table or at the front desk of the poker room..

Either way works..

Any other questions.. Feel free to ask me..

I'm trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for "easy" to get credit cards, no secu

It%26#039;s pretty much what I said, trying to rebuild, looking for credit cards that don%26#039;t require much of a history and no secured ones. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

Everybody%26#039;s posted their answers, so now I%26#039;ll post mine. Just like Ice and some of the other posters said, there are some department store cards that are fairly easy to get, but as far as major credit cards, the only one that comes to mind is Orchard Bank. They offer cards for people either starting out or starting over. Chase may have one or 2. But honestly, secured cards can help you more than you think. Yes, you would have to put a deposit upfront to get a credit limit in the same amount, but the deposit gains interest while you%26#039;re building credit, so in a sense it%26#039;s like building credit with a savings account. Another advantage is that you have more control of the credit line instead of being at the mercy of the credit card company. Whenever you add to the deposit, it increases your credit line. The more you add, the higher your limit gets and the more interest you generate off the deposit. And as long as you pay on time and charge lightly to keep the balance low, you%26#039;ll get the deposit back with interest and either the card will convert into a regular card or you%26#039;ll be offered a better card.

Look, I know that you%26#039;re wanting to rebuild. And you%26#039;re looking for an %26quot;easy%26quot; way out. But unfortunately that%26#039;s hardly ever the case when it comes to credit. The %26quot;easy%26quot; cards usually have high interest rates, and fees out the ying-yang that makes it not even worth having. I know that you don%26#039;t want a secured card, but I posted links to some good ones that are better than some unsecured ones out there. Like I mentioned earlier, try out Orchard Bank they offer credit cards for rebuilding credit, and they also offer a pretty good secured card in the event that you%26#039;re not approved for a regular one.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

My advice is to get a major oil company credit card and avoid using any other credit cards. Pay in cash...not credit.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

try store credit cards. like jc penny%26#039;s or sears.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

Our credit isn%26#039;t great right now either, so we want to work on building it back up. Orchard Bank (subsidiary of HSBC) gave us a card. Interest rate isn%26#039;t too bad, although they only did a limit of $400....but that%26#039;s okay....it is just to rebuild credit. We use it periodically for small purchases and pay it off within a couple of months each time.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

You can make credit eventhough you have a bad credits history.

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

Store cards are the easiest to get these days. Kohls, Old Navy, Gap, ect ect.

I know someone who got a capital one credit card with a credit score around 580. So I can assume that they are not the strictest company out there for sure....

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

Try First Premier Bank or Orchard Bank. They both are unsecured credit cards for bad credit, but they do come with annual fees.

orchard bank

I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, just looking for %26quot;easy%26quot; to get credit cards, no secure ones. Thanks.

You can try Aqu,Capital one and vanquis. I think capital one is the best one to try because they have a great internet site where you can monitor your account. They will send the card out right way if you are accepted.

I think you should only try vanquis if there is no other option because they have very high interest rates.

Here is a list of credit cards for people with bad credit http://www.ccvault.com/credit_cards/bad_... I recommend Orchard.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

i have used many credit cards in the past, most of which i have cancelled, but there are some that are still showing as active, is there anywhere that will be able to show me which i have outstanding

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

you will need to pull your own credit report. as long as there%26#039;s no annual fees keep the card open. it improves your credit score because you are having established credit.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Your allowed to access your credit report once a year for free and there are some great websites on the internet that give you this service. It would show you anything that is on your credit report, including any credit cards that you are not longer using.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Get all three of your credit reports for free once a year from annualcreditreport.com. The reports will show you not only all your open and active accounts, including credit cards and loans, but will also show you your old closed accounts. If you have any negative items on the report such as late payments, bankruptcy, chargeoffs, etc those will be shown on the report as well.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Go to Freecreditreport .com and fill in the information asked (be careful as they are trying to sell you your free report.)

On this sight there are links to all 3 major credit reporting agencies. You can see all 3 now or just one (I suggest only one as you can do it only once per year per company for free.) Your entire credit history going back 7 years will be there.

Look under active accounts. This will show you what is active (I found out about a card that was on the wrong report.)

If you look at just one report that saves you the other 2 to look at in a few months for free.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Any of the big 3 credit report businesses include this on their reports to the consumer.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i...

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Get copies of your credit report from all three credit bureaus. You need from all three because some only report to one and not the others.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

get a credit report from experian. it cost you something like a nominal 鎷? and lists all the standard stuff the banks etc use to decide on whether to give you credit.

this should show all the cards etc you have.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

get your credit report from Experian or Equifax. You can order them online for 鎷?. They should show all the credit you have even if you%26#039;re not spending it.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

the only way to use credit cards. is to actually USE THEM. get one for say six month interest free, save all your money in internet banking at a rate of about 4.60 and then when the moron credit company wish your payment, pay it off, let the credit companes always carry the debt. it is the only way to do it.; Mind you if you hjave no money. do not use a card, and id you do, just use it on the day of the billing so you get seven weeks to save to pay it off. Never never ever ever pay flaming interest. otherwise you are a mug.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

Get your credit report from Experian.

This will show which accounts are active and it also gives you contact details for the financial organisations you are linked to.

Where can i look to find out what credit cards i still have active but not using?

annualcreditreport.com is a website ran by the federal government which will allow you to retrieve all three of your credit reports for free once a year. You dont have to put in any financial information like a credit card. Its a legit website unlike some others.

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit

I need to get my credit score up to get a better interest rate on a home loan and do not have the money to pay off all of my credit cards, but I can pay them down by 20% does anyone know about how many points that can add to my credit score? Thanks!

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

Sorry, not enough information.

Just paying down cards by 20% may increase your score by only 5 or 10 points, or less, or more. I did some simulations with my score (I use Identity Advisor) and I went up 10 points in one simulation, and 16 points in another, but the second one I paid a lot more than 20%.

If you have a lot of other credit than credit cards, it may not help much.

You really should talk to the bank, as they will be better able to tell you what is the best way to improve your score

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

You can find out how much your score changes by doing different things at www.myfico.com

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

Paying off 20% of 100% of available credit would do nothing. But say that 20% can get your used available credit below 30% total then this would help you.

If the 20% will not get your total amount below 30% then apply it to your account with the highest interest rate. Are there any negative things on your credit report that could be keeping your score down? If so look into trying to get the negatives removed. Even a 30 day late can hurt you quite bit. Even after you hit those credit cards with the large payment you may not see much of an effect for a couple of months.

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

That will not lower your credit score. To lower your credit score, you need to eliminate debt and the potential for debt.

You obviously know the cards are debt, what you probably do not know is that having the cards, even though they are paid off is potential debt. Not only do you need to pay off your cards, you need to CANCEL them.

When the credit bureaus look at you , not only do they look at what you owe and whether or not you are delinquent on payments, they look at the debt possibility.

Example of this is:

Car payment - Original Balance 24K - owe 10K @375 per month for 24 months.

Macy Charge card - Balance - $1K. Overall credit limit 5K

Lowes CC - Balance $500. Overall Credit limit 5K

Sears CC - Balance $1500. Overall credit limit $7500.

Visa CC - Balance $8500. Overall credit limit 19000.

When the Bureaus look at these, the see that you have a debt potential of over $60,000.00. The individual balance is not always the driving factor. They look at this because, if you are in debt more than 28% of your Gross, not net income, you owe too much. If you take out a mrotgage at $150K, you then hae a debt possibility of over $200K.

So, pay off the cards and then cancel them. Using the example above, make the absolute minimum payments to the higher balance cards. Pay off the lowest baalnce cards and cancel them as fast as they are paid off. Do nto icnur anymore cc debt. Pretend you are a starving college student and only have $5.00 per day to eat on. Quit eating out - #1 way $%26#039;s are wasted - me included.

I also recommend that you need to get down to one card. A Master Card, Visa or Discover is virtually taken everywhere that CC is taken. Look for one that will give you something such as cash like discover. I would stay away from air miles cards aas you do nto have the $s to take a trip anyway.

Another way you can earn $%26#039;s is through your checking account. Find a bank that has deals where you get free checking and the bank pays you interest on your balance if you use electronic banking. Mine is a local bak and not one of thebig chains. I get free checking and up to $25.00 per month in rebates on the ATM card as well as interest on my balance (last months rates was 4.65%). I just needed to no longer get cancelled checks at home and use the card 10 times per month as well as having direct deposit of my payroll checks and access my account online at least once per cycle.

Hope this works for you.

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

The best way to increase your credit score, if you have a lot of maxed credit cards, is to pay as many as possible below 50% utilization. For example if you have a CC with a $2000 limit pay it below $1000. Also if you have a lot of CC%26#039;s close out some of them. Too many accounts also negatively affect your credit.

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

I would suggest paying off the credit card with the highest interest rate as much as you can. Maybe think about consolidating the rest of the credit cards into the mortgage loan and close most of them. This will give you a better chance with the bank as they can see you are trying to do something about your situation. Good Luck

If I pay off 20% of the balance on all of my credit cards, how many points will it add to my credit score?

Its purportions of credit used to credit limits. So yes, paying them below say 50% of your limits would help.. but not down to 80% thats basically still considered %26quot;maxed out%26quot; as far as Fair Issac would be concerned.

It wouldn%26#039;t do %26quot;nothing%26quot; as stated but its effects would most likely be neglible.

How is the best way to store customer credit cards?

For those of you small business owners that manually run customer credit cards what is the best way to securely store this information? The days of storing this on an excel spreadsheet are gone. Are there any applications that can encrypt this date?

How is the best way to store customer credit cards?

First of all, you should not conduct business this way. Get a software program that allows for the secure encryption of credit card data. Software is cheap and most online gateways that allow for recurring billing (subscriptions) are free to set up, you just pay the fees. If you want more information, e-mail me at tmessick1@yahoo.com and I can send you a link to companies that provide this service.

Form that allows office to record and bill credit cards on delinquent accounts?

forms or contracts for client to give consent to provider of service to record and bill credit cards on delinquent accounts

Form that allows office to record and bill credit cards on delinquent accounts?

In order to collect payments against delinquent accounts you must get *written* authorization prior to the charges for that account.

If you need an example of a physical printed form, go to your local blockbuster and ask for a membership application. On the form, it has a written disclaimer about charges being levied against your credit card in case your account becomes past due. Simply copy that verbiage on to your form and you should be good to go.
